2. The Misandrists | Genesis Cinema, Mile End | Wed 15 Nov | 20:30

A bloody and bonkers female revenge romp from the King of Sleaze, Bruce LaBruce.

Synopsis:

“The Female Liberation Army (FLA) hide out in rural Gerwomany under the tutelage of the formidable Big Mother (Bruce LaBruce regular, Susanne Sachsse). Posing as a convent school for wayward girls, they plot revolution in the classroom and entertain themselves with each other’s company. But when a young man – a leftist activist injured whilst eluding capture by the police – accidentally stumbles upon the group, his arrival sets in motion events which test the FLA’s radical brand of feminism and cohesion as a community. ”

Filmmaker Shu Lea Cheang (FRESH KILLI.K.U) dives into the dark in this erotic cyberpunk fantasy unlike any other.

Synopsis:

“It’s the year 2060 and a mutated version of the HIV virus re-codes bodily fluids as an erotic-narcotic. A new type of gender fluid human, ZERO GEN, are the bio-drug carriers of this intoxicating ejaculate. DIY biohackers, underground drug lords, and a scheming corporation are intermeshed when the (corrupt) government sends out secret agents to identify anyone who carries the mutated gene. But these android agents can also be ‘turned’ with a single shot of the stimulating new drug…”
